man who is accused of stealing a small plane from a flight school in Thunder Bay, Ontario and flying across three U.S. states is now in custody in southeast Missouri.

Missouri Highway Patrol says he was captured shortly after landing the plane on a rural highway near Ellsinore and fled on foot.

Thirty-one-year-old Adam Leon is under arrest, but has not yet been charged. It's alleged he scaled a fence at Thunder Bay's Confederation College Flight Centre Monday afternoon and took off in a four-seater Cessna.

As he flew into U.S. airspace, F-16 fighter jets intercepted Leon after radio calls and signals to land were repeatedly ignored.

Maybe he just really wanted to be the flight lead for a 3-ship non-standard formation of F16s and a cessna!

Turns out he wanted them to shoot him down. Must say, suicide-by-USAF earns you a lot more style points than suicide-by-cop in my book.

The Air Force would have never shot him down unless it was a threat to national security
