New Canon 500D Will Shoot HD Video for Under $1K

Canon announced their latest consumer-grade DSLR today, the 500D, aka Rebel T1i. Shoots 15.1 megapixel stills and full HD 1080p resolution video, though only 20fps at that res...30fps at 720p. Also has Live View, 3in LCD, HDMI out jack. $800 for the body, $900 with a 18-55mm IS lens. Will be available in May.

In on of the posts at dpreview.com this has been nicknamed the "Nikon D90 killer". This thing sells for about $200 less (body only) than the D90.
