An Australian man has built his own 747 simulator for $300,000, complete with hydraulic motion effects and a nearly identical cockpit. A lot of dough for a hobbyist, but a fraction of the $60 million a legit simulator sells for. It's based on MS Flight Simulator, and a total of 45 different programs run on 14 computers to make the thing work.

Even better is that I´m sure it´s priced in Australian $ (Oz$) and the rate is about 1Oz$=70US cent.
So the price is 207 kUS$.

wow, i'm surprised it took him 10 years to do. i used to have a link to his site where he would periodically show updates of his progress, but that was on my old college laptop...

At that price tag, I can earn my wings all the way up to ATP and fly the real deal :borat:

Good for him though, does it come with flight attendants?
