Just a few highlights from my recent trip to NRT:

One of three remaining 747-300s flying in the JAL fleet, JA8183:

A first for me, Garuda Indonesia's PK-GSG:

My personal favorite catch from the trip, SQ's first A380, 9V-SKA, completing the daily A380 service from Singapore:

Only a handful of 747-200Fs left in the Cathay Pacific fleet:

Recognize any of these NRT spotters?

Even though both DL-colored NW 747-400s were at NRT on 2/23 (the day we headed home to the U.S.), I wasn't able to get a clean shot of either. I had to settle for N544US, arriving from Bangkok as NW22.

Excellent shots. Was some of the photo, the ones with planes slowing down in front of the radar, taken from the observation deck?

They sure were. The Terminal 1 observation deck is best in the morning until around 11:30 AM this time of year. Another location good in the mornings is the NW WorldClubs on the north and south satellites of Terminal 1 (where I took the photo of N544US).

Nice shots Chris! I'm still envious of you taking the first 200LR flight to Johannesburg!!!
