Wow, did not see this coming, source DL Digest

Shuttle ops starting move to E-175s
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 8, 2008

Starting in January, we’re beginning the transition to Embraer 175 jet aircraft on our Delta Shuttle operations between New York-LaGuardia and Washington, D.C. We fly the LGA-DCA route currently with MD-88s except for two daily flights operated by Shuttle America with E-175s.

On Jan. 5, half the LGA-DCA schedule will be operated by MD-88s and Shuttle America E-175s offering the same ground and in-flight service as today. On March 28, the route will be operated entirely by Shuttle America E-175s.

Looks like no change on LGA-BOS for now

In other interesting DL news I read tonite a NW DC-9-50 is currently being painted in the new DL scheme!

Cheers

are the TCF embraers configured in all-coach or do they have a first class?

This is pretty exciting actually. I like watching transition on the shuttle routes, although I miss the 733s.

They are currently operating the 175s to ORD, right?

I believe the EMB's are operating between LGA and MDW..I saw an EMB in DL colors at MDW last Wednesday when I was leaving to come home.

This is certainly a reduction in capacity but prob a good move from an economic standpoint. The E jets burn far less fuel then the MDs.

These planes are GREAT and will have all of the Delta ammenities offered on the mainline Shuttle service (including, from what I hear, WiFi access).i've only flown on an EMB-170/-175 from MHT-DCA and i loved it. i'm 6'3'' and had plenty leg room in coach, more than what i've encountered on our airbusses and way more than our boeings. they are a great airplane IMO.
