Even though Boeing's 787 Dreamliner remains grounded by a series of embarrassing delays, airlines that have ordered the plane are eager to take advantage of its unique features designed to enhance the flying experience for passengers.

And one of those special features on the 787 is the large windows -- bigger by far than those on any commercial jet flying today.

Continental Airlines, one of three U.S. airlines that have ordered the 787, will configure the business cabin of its Dreamliners with seats that face more toward those huge windows than the front of the plane.

It's a radical concept in aircraft interior design.

"The 787 is a plane that has much larger windows than any plane has before and our thinking was wouldn't it be great if we could modify the configuration so all of the double seats that are on the outboard of the cabin, every single seat, would face toward the window," said Tom Plant, vice president and general manager of the seating products group at BE Aerospace, which developed the new seat for Continental.
