They have changed this event. It has been changed to a one-day show, only on Saturday, October 11 from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and will be a static display show only, no flying displays. Admission is $10, and proceeds will go to the Vinny Nasta Foundation. Nasta was the pilot killed in the Rhinebeck crash this summer.

Just a reminder - the show is coming up this Saturday, October 11, one day only. Forecast is partly cloudy and mid-60s.

Wow, I didn't think there would be no flying.
I was planning on atteneding but now I'm rethinking that one and a half hour drive.

I don't know what the problem is, but their web site says "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to host the air show portion of this event". Does sounds a little strange.

Perhaps regarding something to do with their insurance and being liable for anything, if it were to happen.

When did this happen? I could have sworn I saw the website not too long ago, and there was no mention of any changes to the format for this year. I was all ready to spend the weekend away from school enjoying an airshow. Train tickets are already booked and paid for though, so I might just have to try going spotting on Sunday...

Sorry to say but they cancelled the show this year a few weeks ago.

Planning another in 2010.

For those looking for something to do that weekend on LI, the Bayport Aerodrome will be hosting the Antique Airplane Club of Greater NY annual Fly In on Saturday August 15th. I volunteer at Bayport. Make sure to stop by as in addition to our planes we usually have some guest airplanes show up. Make sure to enter at the North side of the strip....thats on Vitamin Drive which is off of Church St off Nichols Rd.

Also at Brookhaven from August 20th at the Mid Island Air Service ramp there will be the worlds only airworthy H (gun nose) model B-25 Mitchel giving rides.

Well, perhaps I should have started a new thread. I was referring to this post...
