NORTH HUDSON, N.Y. (AP) -- Authorities say a single-engine plane that made an emergency landing on an Adirondack highway is from a Canada college.

The plane landed safely just after 5 p.m. Wednesday on the northbound lanes of Interstate 87 in the Essex County town of North Hudson, 95 miles north of Albany. The plane was later pushed to the side of the highway.

Local emergency officials say the pilot and two passengers, all men in their 20s, were from Seneca College in Toronto.

State police released no information on the incident Thursday. A dispatcher said the incident was being investigated by federal aviation officials.

Essex County officials said the plane was headed to Burlington, Vt., when its engine failed.

No one aboard the plane or on the ground was injured
