Hi all -

Had the opportunity to do some ship spotting the other afternoon, and an unusual cargo passed the Verrazano-Narrows during this time.

A "Mohawk" barge transporting what appeared to an intact Cessna
Citation X corporate jet. Obviously quite new and not bound for the
Intrepid.

Does anyone know the origin or destination of this aircraft? Can
anyone help identify the tugboat here - (Swift? perhaps).

that is a little strange tom. from the paint it looks like a netjets airplane. maybe it's the cost of fuel that's forcing them to FERRY airplanes like this now...

This is the Citation the went off the runway at JFK a few months back. When I was at JFK for the A380 arrival we saw her being prepared for transport, I have some pics but can't post them here, sorry, at the next slide show I'll show them ;) . She's going to be repaired over in C.T and put back in service. The owner's pilot said he could have flown her out of JFK if they reattached the front gear. He would have had to fly to C.T with the gear down but said the plane is airworthy and could have done it...needless to say the other parties involved said "NO."

Thanks for the information Tommy. I thought I remembered a Citation X going off the runway recently, but hadn't placed it at JFK.

Apparently N750WM for the aircraft, and the tug is indeed Swift.

Never know what you're going to see....

Which airport does the Citation X repair the nose gear? I would assume it would probably at Bridgeport (BDR). Am I right?

Thanks!
