I went to a bar last Friday for a friend's birthday. It's a VERY relaxed place, college-bar style, so people who dress up stand out in a "KICK ME" kinda way.

We were seated at a table near the foosball table, and people kept hitting us in the backs with asses and elbows when they scored. So after many beers, we got up, put money in as if we were going to play, and kept all the balls.

So one guy (stranger) who came in a suit took off his jacket and hung it on one of the table's poles. After half an hour, my friends and I decided to use the balls for our own game, and when I removed the guy's jacket and I didn't see him in the immediate area, I put it on.

After a minute or so of playing, the guy comes around looking for his jacket. He looks me dead in the eye and asks if I have seen it. I said no, laughing. He then turns away to keep looking. I then was pointing out to people how short his sleeves were on me, as you can see in this next photo. As I'm doing this, he's looking around for it still (you can see his matching pants).

After another 20 seconds, he realizes that I am wearing it, and he was pretty angry, but neither of us felt like being confrontational, so I took it off and gave it to him.

Here are some pics from my game this evening that someone took. It was round 1 of our playoffs, and we won 11-6. We had a 7-1 lead at one point but started to get too comfortable. I had 3 goals in the first period. We are short on jerseys this season, so I wear a t-shirt as you can see.

If this is the play I recall, I received a great feed from a winger and plunked it in. Most of my goals are due to the efforts of great linemates.

My team had our 2nd game tonight, and we won 6-4. We played pretty solid as a team, and it was a lot of fun. My team moved up into a tougher division and the opposition is more challenging and demands more effort from us, which I love. I have a goal and an assist so far, but unfortunately the scorekeeper credits my stats to other people for some reason.

Phil, ever see the people who run the clock and take game stats? Sometimes they have 12 year old kids doing it. I know when my sons played there
there were always issues with stats being credited to the wrong people and the clock not starting or kept running at the wrong times.
BTW the 495ers have dropped out of PIHA and are now playing in the AIHL instead. My oldest son opted not to play with them this year though they asked him
to come down. He had some issues with mgt last year that pissed him off (cant blame him) and will play for his college team instead.

emshighway, OMG, you are EVERYWHERE!

OK, long time lurker, first time poster here. I figured I'd give a shout out to Kevin, (emshighway) my former boss at one point at New York City EMS/ FDNY BEMS.

Since leaving EMS, I have been able to do a lot of stuff that I had missed out on because of financial reasons.
I have joined the Confederate Air Force as a life member, and am flight crew on the B-17 Texas Raiders.
I have gotten a big boy camera set up, and get to shoot for airshows and for aviation related customers. All my pix go to my customers, so I do not sell my pix, nor do I post to a.net (not that there's anything wrong with that). I do share if anybody wants a certain shot and my customer has not stated otherwise.

I have tired of shooting Southwest, Continental, and a few of the others that frequent Houston airports, so I am planning a trip back home to NYC/Long Island to shoot the A380 and airlines that don't even pass near IAH, HOU, or EFD. Also on the agenda is taking my son to his first Ranger's game in the 'Garden.
Alright, so really my wife wanted to visit family at Thanksgiving, but STILL, MY goal is to get out and spot at JFK, and maybe LGA, and if I HAVE to eat some turkey with the in-laws, then that is the price that I will just have to pay.

I am a member of houstonspotters.net and was hoping that I will be able to come over here and pick up the inside info needed to make my trip a success. Needless to say, I have already found plenty of good tips already, so I will be lurking here for the next couple of weeks in prep for my trip.

What is really funny is the look on peoples faces that see this and have the knee jerk reaction to close this thread IE window before anyone behind you notices while at work!

Mel, I am sorry for not giving props to your arm........... It has been corrected!

My allergist doesn't know what caused the reaction. (Not doing her job well I guess!) Every few years since I'm about 20, between April and June I will get hives for a few days. This particular episode was June 4, 2008 (The day before my 32nd Birthday). This year was the worst, I started to develop hives on my arm so I took some Benadryl. After another 30 mins I felt my throat starting to close and was becoming hypoxic (lack of oxygen to the brain). I was seeing spots and gasping for air. I was cool,pale,and sweaty with a Pulse of 48 and a blood pressure of 68/40. I am normally 120/80 on the BP. The Nassau County Police and their EMS unit gave me a shot of Epinephrine,Some IV fluids,and more Benadryl. I was forced into Franklin General Hospital! They wanted to admit me, but I signed Out against medical advice. I live in Queens, but at the time I was with my wife at a doctors appointment in Cedarhurst..........FYI nobody in the DRs office knew what to do and they didn't even have oxygen.

At long last the album I recorded with my old metal band has been released. The title is "The Summoning". We jammed when I was in college, then broke up, then reformed to make this record. It was basically the reason I wasn't taking pictures of airplanes for most of the 1990's(being lead guitarist in a metal band made it a lot easier to meet women, so...you do the math). Once real life kicked in I returned to my love for aviation!

Though I couldn't argue against William and picking up the ladies being a lead guitarist in a metal band, I have to say this gem has spawned some fairly remarkable results...me in my dad's 172 back probably around 1989-1990 or so. I was 2 or 3 when this was taken, and yes ladies, I am single :tongue:

As strange as it sounds having just released the CD, we're actually not a band anymore- the record label was kind enough to want to distribute whatever we could get recorded. The other guys still live out in Indiana and I had to practice the old parts and drive out there to the studio last year to do them. They had reformed for a little while without me, played a couple shows, then the record happened, but as of right now there are no plans(that I know of) to tour. And as tempting as such a "Blues Brothers" reunion might be, my neck is asking me to refrain from any more live performances for this type of music as the amount of whiplash I gave myself back then is enough

...it certainly keeps them guessing! I have a cap from my job, NYP, and I am constantly being asked if I am New York Police! lol. At airshows, people would just stare. The bolder ones would approach and ask, are you police? ROTFL

funny thats been said. I once wore the hat while i was walking on Fordham Rd in the Bronx around 9pm and someone got nervous a little and asked me if i was a cop and it was because he was smoking some green. The hat is good enough to freak someone out. :biggrin:. Also in my belief, wearing the hat wont ever stop me from getting hassled as it happened to me at T3 back in Jan.

Heres some old treasure shot.... on my 2nd or 3rd trip to Kai Tak...

Its typical HKG wx... tons of cloud with showers & humidity.... so decided to take a side trip to NOT Victorica Peak.... but of corse "Checker Board"!

Can see one of the newer Cathay Triple -200 .... Cathay Pilots were the best on approaches.... never 'dipped their starboard wing' early...and coming much closer to the HILL!
