The Government Accountability Office on Wednesday backed Boeing’s protest of the awarding of a multibillion-dollar contract for refueling tankers to Northrop Grumman and a European partner, saying the Air Force made errors during the process.

glad there's someone with a brain looking this thing over. i for one never thought the KC-45 was ever the right platform, regardless of the fact that i'm partial to seattle-built airplanes....

The KC-45 is not win the tanker bid, the Boeing (767) aircraft lost. Boeing did not do its best & in my opinion, did something to piss the Air Force off....

Should be interesting to see what the Air Force comes up with.....

Right move in my opinion. With regards to their proposal Boeing may have deserved the "smack on the buttocks", but not a total pardon either. Where it goes from here is still up in the air. Though you give up commonality I think a mix makes the most sense.
