Just got a message over the printer that runway 6-24 is closed at ISP due to a disabled aircraft. No word on airline/type or time it will reopen....

so are they delaying/cancelling the WN and NK flights or can they use 15R/33L?

It was a US Coast Guard Aux C-172. Nothing major, he landed hard, blew a tire and went into the grass off the left side of 24.

Everyone was using 33L for takeoffs/landings until the aircraft was moved, and except for the SWA that was on final for 24 when this happened, nothing was delayed. He did a missed approach and circled to 33L for landing.

6/24 is back open and operational now.

...and no I did not take a picture. He was so far away from my vantage point, you would not be able to see anything thru the heat haze.
