There is supposed to be a fly-over today to welcome the ships to Fleet Week but no time frame was given. I also can't find which aircraft are supposed to participate. I'll try to visit the ships later this week.

These were the aircraft that were supposed to participate, but apparently only the four F-18's showed up...

Yep, I sat there for 2 1/2 hours and all I saw were the F/A-18s and a couple of ships. :x

Pics to come later.

In terms of the information I was given, and having watched the 1st day of Fleet Week in previous years, it seemed the whole thing got off to a very late start. Seems very odd really.

I too saw the 4 F/A-18s and packed it in after that, but wouldn't be surprised if the Orion or something showed up later. Typically some aircraft just come by sporadically and you don't even notice. .. ACTUALLY, I almost forgot.. two single engine warbirds flew by about an hour before the F/A 18s. I nearly missed them they were so small and so high up.

Two Chinooks, an Apache, a Blackhawk, and an old MASH-style chopper just flew right over my house heading east, possibly for this morning's USMC demonstration in Cunningham Park.

Those are all Army aircraft, were they maybe CH-46's, UH-1s, AH-1s, and CH-53s?

After looking those up on Google: yes, except for the CH-53. I actually knew what the Huey was but I wrote Blackhawk accidentally. Upon watching the MASH intro, the one I thought I knew from MASH was not in MASH at all, maybe I recognized it from Full Metal Jacket or something. It was sort of this shape, but bigger.

That's a Sikorsky Chickasaw. Maybe you saw the Choctaw? It has a similar shape, though it's not a quad-gear.
