Around 4:00-4:20PM today I heard some unusual sounding planes, and I was sure that it wasn't something I see on a daily basis, so I ran to a window, and got there just in time to see 6 prop planes flying in formation over my house. I happened to have my F10 sitting near my foot, so I managed to take one shot. Unfortunately, they were pretty far away since they were flying low and I needed time to take the camera out of the case.

My camera settings were all screwed up from the last time I was taking pictures, and I only had a split second to get the shot before they flew away, so I had no time to change them. I was also shooting through a screen. By the time I looked up from the camera, they were too far away to get a good direct look.

Anyone have any idea what they were? I think they sounded like Texans, but I could definitely be wrong.

Might be the GEICO Skytypers based out of Long Island. They fly old T6s....

In that pic I see six aircraft.
And I think as of now the Skytypers only have five T-6 Texans due to the accident at Oceana last year. Unless they bought another one.....

They do have six, and I think they did back when I saw them in Millville a few years ago.

I'm definitely willing to bet it is the Skytypers. I bet they are on their way to KPIT for that airshow, which happens to be this weekend... and it seems like they're back to full force after last year's tragedy at Oceana.

I get to see them SIX times this year...

There IS 6..... there was 6 and last week they changed 6 (or were suppose to)

Moose, the tail on the #6 should have changed as the aircraft that we saw should no longer be part of the team...or at least this is the info. They were to take delivery of the painted aircraft last week or so. N numbers should be different.

Im sure it was the skytypers. I was on New Highway About 3:45 and pulled over to watch a Corsair depart. Just after he left (Sweet) the 6 texans taxied out grouped up on 32 and took off.

It is not in the picture and is usually in the hangar unless work on other aircraft is being done. What is special about it.... It is the #4 SkyTyper silly! :borat:
