Here is G-BPEK:

[airliners42820[/airlinersLooks pretty good. I'm surprised to see an American flag on the aircraft considering the aircraft isn't registered in the US.

not bad at all.. European and American flag near the tail area, My opinion is that they should have kept the bottom blue

Yes they are, it was reported on months ago they would. They will start JFK-CDG with them, AF is starting LAX-LHR.

The deal with Open Skies is that the aircraft will be configured with only 30 economy seats and a first and business class cabin, very similar to the Premium Service at United.

Other planned routes are BRU-JFK, FRA-JFK, and possibly MAD-JFK.

This is Open Skies the airline, not the treaty. :)

Thank you for clarifying that. I didn't know there was going to be an airline named Open Skies that BA started.

Confusion is now gone.

Actually BA flew 757's across the pond many years before AA/CO/NW/US did. Back in the mid 90's there where 3 BA 757 arrivals/departures a day at JFK. One from BHX and GLA, one aircraft spent the afternoon sitting at JFK and one did a RT to YYZ, I think this lasted around 2-3 years.

Could not find a JFK pic but here's one from at YYZ JFK bound in 1997

[airliners08473[/airlinersAs far as the Open Skies scheme don't care for the style of the font, probably will be hard to read from a distance. also if they use the L2 door as most 757 gates do the jetway will block half of it.

A little side note. I have done about 5 or 6 legs on BA 757's, about half domestic UK and half on European routes. Surprisingly BA ordered their 757's without the fisheye fresh air vents, something I found annoying but tolerable on the 30-100 min flights I took but would really not care for on a 6-8 hour flight accross the pond. While I might be mistaken this a factory install item, not something modifiable later in the aircraft's life.

Cheers

Its a totally different animal. AF is using a normal config while BA/Opensky is going to do the biz class thing.

Better than that even we're going to get BA Airbus A318s as well this summer... (can't remember if its directly to do with Open Skies or not...I think maybe not, but anyway...should be great.; like the PrivatAirs flying for Luftansa to EWR..but these will be BA and A318s last I knew.) And, yeah, the B757s as a result of Open Skies..
