A British Airways flight from London to San Francisco was tonight forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon airport tonight.
The 747 plane with 347 people on board was forced to fly back to Shannon Airport from the Atlantic Ocean after developing a problem with its hydraulics at around 6.45pm.
A Shannon Airport spokesperson confirmed the plane landed safely 40 minutes later.
Emergency services stood ready as the plane landed.
However, the spokesperson said at this stage it looked like the flight would go ahead and the plane was refuelling.
