Amazing "Big Dog" Robot

I've been following the world of robotics pretty closely lately and I've observed a lot of progress being made, but this video really blew my mind. General Dynamics, with funding from DARPA, is developing it for the military as a replacement for mules and horses in mountainous regions.

The legs look like two midgets carrying a coffee table. One set of legs going forward, one backward, you know?

It sounds reeeeallly creepy. But the fact that it could recover from a kick like that is awesome.
