This is surprise? Mesa is well know for over working their pilots up to 16 hours a day with as little as 3 or 4 hours between trips.

It doesn't surprise me... I've heard quite a few stories about people falling asleep flying...

I am not suprised it is Mesa but the flight is blocked at about 20 minutes or so. I do not see where the time to fall asleep is in that time. You get it cleaned up in cruise/climb config and than it is time to start your way down again. I know Hawaiian airspace is not the biggest clusterfudge on the planet like our own local airspace but I am certain that the flight deck has to be pretty busy throgh from block out to block in on a stage length that short.

We had a rule on my -135 crew - last guy awake has to wake up someone else
