Not a surprise, but Huckabee got less votes and he's still staying in. I was reading somewhere that McCain and Huckabee might have a deal where Hucks would steal the conservative vote from Romney and then take the VP nod. Makes sense and would probably be the only way McCain has a decent shot at winning the election.

I like Huck, and him being VP could make me return to vote for the GOP, assuming Obama makes it through the primaries.

Him being VP would ENSURE a Democratic President. So I hope McCain does ask him to be his running mate. The guy is a religous wacko Phil, he injects religion far to deep into his politics. That's the very last thing we need right now. I was surprised to hear him drop out so soon. The poll numbers really must be negative for him right now. At this point its a race between Clinton and Obama. McCain can't win against either one of them.

Would perfer that Huckabee not receive the VP nod, other Cabinet positions maybe. Who knows, may Romney will receive the VP nomination.....

Actually I think he defeats Hillary rather easily and Obama in a little tighter race. When you get right down to the voting in November the majority of Amercians are going to vote very similiar to 04' The Dems still haven't given us a plan on how they are going to do things. To just keep chanting "change" and "our time has come" and trucking out Ted Kennedy and Oprah. This great for the news' talking points but not for what they are going to do. Promising to end the war is an empty promise that didn't help Kerry and just placates the codepinks and moveon.orgs. In reality it's not going to happen. As for socialized medicine I think anybody with any sense knows that will never happen in this country. Much like 04' the Dems are using the "elect me because the GOP has ruined the country" approach. Not going to work.

I really have begun to like Huck too, as VP though I have mixed emotions. His tax views are interesting and he without a doubt strikes me as the most geniune person. His radical right views may help in the deep south and other bible thumper states but big picture we may be better with another VP.

I was dissapointed that Romney dropped out. First Thompson goes (my choice), then Romney goes (my second choice), now I am left with the only other alternative being Huckabee. I do not like McCain at all, nor do I like the Hildabeast or the Obamination.

I too am forced to go for Huck after Thompson dropped out. For McCain to win, he needs a more conservative and younger running mate, a la G.H.W. Bush, but I see Rudy being McCain's running mate which kills me and might kill his chances.

Classic!

His running mate is going to be an important part of his campaign. Now that he is the Obvious choice I wonder who he will choose.

Romney dropped out for the good of the party, wondering if Huckabee will do the same...... :?:

How will Huck dropping out be good for the party? Then it would leave us with liberal candidates on both sides...

Huckabee does not have a chance in the world of winning, the math simply does not work, so, if the Conservatives & Moderate Republicans get their act together, there will be a Democrat in the White House.

Senator McCain is not my favorite candidate, but, he is not a liberal......

Besides, how anybody done any research on Huckabee, some of his ideas & past actions have me raising an eyebrow.
