Thought it might be easier to have 1 thread for the election results rather than separate threads for each one......

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Mike Huckabee won the first contest declared on Super Tuesday, picking up all 18 national delegates awarded at West Virginia's state GOP convention.

I LOVE THIS NIGHT!!!!!! Its the second best night to the Presidential race on Nov 7th! I'll be up all night! Obama is showing a strong showing in C.T and NJ! He wasn't expected to have this kind of showing in either of those states. The people are speaking up! I LOVE IT!

Keep in mind that these races aren't winner-take-all...winning a state with 60% of the vote is measurably better than winning with 51% of the vote...

Every State is different, different rules for the Republicans & Democrats, & some are winner take all

Yes, it varies by party and by state...for example, NY's Republican primary is winner take all, but the Democratic primary is not.

Here is the present delegate count:

Clinton 635

Obama 528

McCain 487

Romney 176

Huckabee 122

Still a close fight between Clinton & Obama, & both Romney & Huckabee are within striking distance of McCain, but, as long as they both remain in the race, they are draining votes from each other...

Don't be so hasty, find out why people voted the way they did. Was it a Pro-Clinton vote or an Anti-Obama vote?????

I love this election! As expected, McCain blew away the competition. On the Democratic side, however, it's still very much anyone's game. Here's how the delegates stack up:

Dems
-Clinton: 825
-Obama: 732

Reps
-McCain: 615
-Romney: 268
-Huckabee: 169

I'm optimistic that Obama will eventually catch up with Clinton. I agree with what a reporter said yesterday night on CNN - it seems the more familiar people get with Obama, the more likely they are to vote him over another candidate. EXCITING! :D

Greets,

Check out this grid:

It's interesting how Clinton is winning states by small margins (less than 60% everywhere except Arkansas), but when Obama wins, he wins big.

It's also interesting how Obama is kicking the crap out of Clinton in red states...

Not surprising, people are waking up to the fact that he has a message and vision for this country unlike Clinton who is simple the same old deal. The next few weeks will be interesting on the Dem side. Clinton and Obama will have to make very careful moves over the next few weeks in order to secure their place on the Nov ticket. I would however like Edwards to throw his support behind Obama.

I'm just over Huckabee...wow...fantastic showing yesterday and I can't recall anyone predicting that kind of showing for him. Certainly Huckabee is screwing any chance Romney has.
