Toronto-based Porter Airlines on Friday will begin selling tickets to Newark, N.J., the first U.S. destination in its expansion plans.

The privately owned airline said service between the Toronto City Centre Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport will begin March 31. Porter will run seven daily round-trip flights as well as limited weekend service.

"We recognized a need for time-sensitive urban travellers to move quickly and comfortably between the New York City metro area and downtown Toronto and are now acting to fulfill that need," said Don Carty, the airline's chairman, in a release.

The airline estimates travellers in downtown Toronto will be able to trim their travel time by up to two hours, as compared with flying out of Pearson International Airport.

Porter also announced it has expanded its fleet by two to a total of six. The airline expects to include flights to Boston, Chicago, Washington and Philadelphia in addition to its current service between Toronto, Ottawa, Mont Tremblant, Montreal and Halifax.

somone also posted the schedule on a.net:
All Newark flights arrive and depart from terminal B at Newark International Airport.

YTZ has immigration facilities on arrival, but does NOT have pre-clearance, so pax will have to go through Customs at Newark.
