Great article about the state of our nation's firefighting air force (http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/air_space/4245382.html), with some real nice C-130 photos. Sadly, no mention of the Supertanker, but a bit about the DC-10 tanker.

Interesting article, thanks for posting. Although most on this board have probably seen it, the 1989 movie "Always" has a lot of great air tanker footage and great sound effects, if you've never seen it, rent it.

Always,was ,is the TopGun for round engine pilots,with a much better plot line,and better actors.(though goose was cool)
