Readers of Traveler Weekly recently selected AA as the best international airline flying today. Since this is a U.S magazine I'm not surprised about the findings. A recent report about U.S Travelers stated most U.S Citizens often stick with U.S Flag carriers vs. foreign flag carriers. I do agree AA's terminal at JFK is a breeze to use.

FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines has been named Best International Airline for 2007 by readers of Travel Weekly in its annual Readers Choice Awards competition.
Travel Weekly announced the award at a recent ceremony and will publish the results in its Jan. 21 issue. American was chosen from a list of five finalists that also included British Airways, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Atlantic. About 5,000 Travel Weekly readers, which include travel agents and marketing executives, voted to select the finalists in this year's polling and those readers were then asked to vote for the nominees in 51 categories.

"We appreciate the travel agency community and all the other Travel Weekly readers who recognized American's achievements in international flying," said Kurt Stache, American's Vice President and General Sales Manager. "These travel experts clearly recognize the great experience that American now offers the international traveler, including our new Business Class Cabins aboard our 767s, our great food and award-winning wine selections, and the expansion of our Flagship Suites in First Class on all our Boeing 777s.

"We also offer international travelers a new $1.3 billion terminal at New York's JFK International Airport, new airport facilities at our Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami hubs, and a new, convenient location at Tokyo's Narita Airport. These new facilities are all designed with our premium customers in mind," said Stache. "They offer new Admirals Clubs; and at JFK we have a new Flagship Lounge, together with First and Business Class ticketing areas and security lanes. All in all, we believe American offers our international passengers an air travel experience that is second to none."

American, a founding member of the global oneworld® Alliance, will begin several new international routes in 2008, including Chicago O'Hare to Moscow, as well as Milan, Barcelona and a second Stansted, England, route from New York JFK.
