Two F/A-18 Super Hornets suffered a mid-air collision while on a close air support mission and crashed into the Persian Gulf today. All three pilots have been recovered and are in good condition.

Two of the same aircraft, but 3 pilots? I didn't know Super Hornet had 1.5 pilots each. Sure they didn't forget one?

The Echo model is a one seater and the Fox Trot is a 2

The F/A-18A and B are called "Classic," C and D's are "Legacy" and the E and F are "Super" while the G is a "Growler".
At least one was from VFA-105 - almost a brand new F/A-18E. The other F was from either VFA-32 or VFA-11. Glad to hear the aircrew survived.
