TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - A jetliner flying from Atlanta to Mexico made an emergency landing in Florida on Saturday after crew members smelled smoke in the cockpit.
After landing at Tallahassee Regional Airport, the 141 passengers on Delta Air Lines Flight 289 boarded another plane to Cozumel.
``Maintenance is investigating what may have caused the smell,'' Delta spokeswoman Susan West said.
Firefighters checked the plane with thermal-imaging equipment but did not find any hot spots, said Jim Durwin, the airport's assistant superintendent of operations.
