P&W 707 - Calling All Sengas!

I see Youri took that, I was spotting with him a few weeks ago at YUL, good guy. While we were spotting the P&W 747SP flew overhead. Their test center isn't all to far from YUL. Youri was saying there's a chance P&W may move to YUL bringing their 747SP and 720 to YUL. The only issue is runway length at YUL, the 747 may have some issues from what I understand.

Its funny that you should mention P&W Canada's C-FETB.
I have been on contact with the person who took that fantastic shot. We belong to a very small club :)
I have been wanting to get a shot of this aircraft for a few years now. Its difficult because the P&W Testbed 720s don't fly often enough to be able to track not to mention C-FETB is over 6 hours away By the time I get up there it would have returned to the ground.
However when I move back to NY two months from now it will be my first "project"


I shot P&W Canada's Boeing 720 sister ship in March of 2005. N720PW Boeing 720.

I saw that aircraft while spotting at YUL. It flew overhead rather low and noisy and was smoking rather heavily, you could see it for a long ways out!

That picture was actually taken two days after I saw it.

Kewl Matt, I was at PHX couple of years ago when she came in. Light totally sucked but it was awesome to see her come in. 5 engines is always cool.

I know getting that bird is tough. I just happened to be sitting on top of the parking garage when I saw something with 4 engines coming in. It was awesome. Bad part of the day and the sun was harsh and too high but I got what I could. Will hope to see her move when I am at PHX this winter.

I was going to fly out there to get a shot if ti but it seem that blasted Mobile contraption thing is hooked up more often than not do it. So I decided not to. Maybe I will try again someday.

The PWC 720 is based at St-Hubert/YHU, which is located about 20-25 minutes SE of downtown Montreal, not on the island like Dorval/Trudeau/YUL. Longest runway at YHU is 7840'. YUL has 11K, but, obviously no facilities there (Bombardier and Air Canada own most of the usable industrial land).

Last month, I was walking around downtown Montreal and heard something loud climbing NW-bound (not a usual flight path). I realized it was a smoky quad, and my first thought was "What is a KC-135 doing up here?" I even checked it for a radome, in case it was an E-3 doing some sort of NATO exercise. Once it got overhead, though, I realized the 5th pod sticking out of the nose, and nearly did a backflip. No picture, but the sighting was good enough for me!

I remember when CETB landed at Dulles. I think Sunil got some pretty good shots. I wish Wish I was aware of that aircraft back then.......
