One of 2 remaining 747-200 int he NWA fleet arrived back at at MCO last night. I am happy it was the new colors as I needed it. Theya re both only used for Charterflights now. It flew to FLL. Anyone down there get it on arrival? It took off late from MCO in Bad weather. I like the 100/200/PW series better than any othegr 747 series. I think the NWA 747-200s are the last US registered 200s flying as PAX flights. Is this true?

It arrived after dark Senga - no chance to get it - I did also notice on Flightstats that there was an AmTran flight in from BWI this afternoon - I'm wondering if this is a regular schedule now or if it was a charter too - anyone know?

I think VC-25A's 29000 and 28000 along with the NWA 742's are the only remaining ones.

Mark,
You should see it tomorrow if you go out. Do you know where it parked at FLL?

I want back in the evening to get more shots of it but it was on the ramp for like 1 hour and then had to got rerouted- that caused it to hold shot of runway 36L for like 35 mins more. I took a few more shots and got video as it pulled away in the driving rain. I noticed a few other people around the area that were also interested in the 200 at MCO.

Chris102,
Thats true...about the VC-25s I guess NWA is the past civilian then.

I saw her at FLL at lunchtime. She isn't parked in the best of locations for a pictures, but here is what I got. I won't be in FLL until Wednesday again - hopefully, she doesn't leave before then, but there was certainly no activity around her today.

Yes, last US pax civilian 747 classics, and only for charter. Someone here posted a link to some pix of the last scheduled flight which took place recently, was surprised it didn't get more attention. BTW this charter into MCO originated in Macau (casino capital of Asia), wonder what was up with that?

Yes last week it went from MSP MCO ANC,ZSPD
On the way back it was VMMC,ANC,MCO,FLL
Somewhere down the link it must have visited a few other airports before it came back. I never did come accross that threat. It would have been nice to see it.

Mark,
I came picture in ym mind where that aircraft was shot at FLL. I guess I haven't been aound FLL enough to get a mental picture. I'm sure you will get an amazing departure shot.

It was taken in the car park at the Customs Building - looking straight towards Terminal 3 (American, etc)

The 742 has been moved over to Signature and when I was there at lunch time today, was being loaded. I thought this might be used as the charter to London for the Miami Dolphins, but there is an Omni DC10 with a flightplan filed to Gatwick, so it's not that. The weather is not the best at the moment - partly cloudy and a threat of rain, but if anyone wants to catch the Omni DC10 arrive, it's due around 4:30pm.

Here she is being loaded this afternoon - she is in fact going to EGKK tonight - any of our friends the other side of the pond will be able to catch her at Gatwick tomorrow morning...
