I suppose Tommy will say these winglets are just covering up more of Delta's problems, perhaps the "dated" fleet he mentioned in earlier posts. :)

Anyway, here she is, N3744F with winglets. She's due for a stop at bay 11 or 12 to receive her fresh coat of paint shortly. I will do my best to get some more photos of her as soon as I can.

I think we may be more interested in the three-holer behind it.

Thanks for the picture.

Well its about time Delta catches up with the likes of AA, CO, WN, and NWA. You know though Delta is from the south, the south moves a bit slower then the rest of us. Looks good, it would have been nice if the widget was on the winglet though.

Just a slight update here but ship 3744 was being pulled into the paint hangar today at 1600. N709TW, another ex-AA machine, is now in Delta livery.

Yesturday I saw a 737 from below on finals to MCO (it was short, like a 300 or 700) with a metallic belly and winglets. It wasn't Aeromexico because I didn't see any blue line and I saw AM landing later in the day.

Any ideas what it could have been? AFAIK DL retired their -300s

It wasn't a Delta 737, since the only 737 with winglets hasn't been returned to service yet. It was probably a Continental bird. And, for that matter, Delta never had winglet-equipped 737-300s anyway.

Delta is doing the modification in-house. They have also done a majority of BWIA/Caribbean's winglet installations.

it didn't look gray so I dont think it was either CO or Copa, but there's really nothing else that could have a silver bottom, winglets and be a short fuselage 737 so I guess it had to be one of those two lol or another Aeromexico flight.

Did N3744F end up getting painted? I read somewhere else she isn't getting painted this time around.
