Saudi Arabia is close to signing a multibillion dollar fighter jet deal with Britain that would be paid for in cash, unlike controversial arms-for-oil pacts in the past, reported Reuters citing a source familiar with the process. The deal is aimed at improving transparency after secretive past deals triggered probes into suspected bribery. Saudi Arabia is expected to spend up to $41 billion on 72 Eurofighter Typhoon combat jets, including weapons, spares and maintenance
