Come to the NYCAviation BBQ!

September is a huge month for aviation every year, and in addition in addition to the many local events, NYCAviation will be having a BBQ as our 2nd annual outdoor event!

On Saturday, September 29th, after LGA Kids' Day, we will assemble at the home of our good friend Vinny Pace in Howard Beach under the 13L approach path! Come by after Kids Day to relax, eat and socialize with all of our friends!

When:

Saturday, September 29 at 5:00pm- 11:00pm

Where:

157-43 101st Street
Howard Beach, NY 11414

WE will provide burgers, hot dogs, buns and condiments. We ask that YOU folks bring snacks you prefer, beverages, desserts or special meat you prefer (veggie, steaks, etc.). Homemade desserts a plus ;)

Alcohol is allowed, but it is BYOB and we ask that people drink responsibly both while hanging out and on their way home afterwards.

Just like the picnic last year, we are trying to set up a raffle. Once details are cemented, I'll pass that along to you all.

I hope you and your families can make it. I myself really look forward to seeing you all again.

See you there!

(ask questions, make suggestions and whatever comments you might have)

Unfortunately, I will be able to go to Kids Day, and then go right back to school. God I hate being a boarding student when I live 15 minutes away!

Take the A train to the Howard Beach-JFK Station. When you exit the station, go to your right then make a left on 159 Avenue and proceed two blocks to 101 Street. Make a right on 101 Street and walk up 2 blocks. Its about a 8-10 minute walk. Also MTA Bus Q11 stops at the corner of 157th Avenue and 101 Street. After getting off the bus, walk up 101 Street toward 158th Avenue.

There better be a Caesar salad. :)

Count me in. At least 'till 6, maybe 630. I have another event in the evening, but I'll be there as long as I can! Would it be possible to bum a ride off someone?

I'd be glad to depending on where you're going, but I don't think I'm going to be able to get down there until 6pm or so myself. I have a trumpet gig at a football game starting at 1:30, but I'll try to get down there as soon as I can.

Ok, guys. Here is a list of what we have on hand for the BBQ:

We have hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, 36 cans of Coke, 36 of Diet Coke, 48 half pint waters, cups, paper plates, forks, knives, napkins, a bag of chips, pretzels and a little salsa.

Based on what we have so far, and as said earlier, we welcome you folks to bring stuff as well. Drinks that you prefer, if you desire beer it's BYOB. More snacks, side-dishes (if someone wants to get macaroni salad or beans or whatever), are welcome and probably needed.

Let me know if you folks have any questions. I'm getting very excited.

Are there any decent delis nearby where I can call in an order and just pick it up on the way there? Even a supermarket nearby? That might be easiest for us.

The BBQ last night was a lot of fun. We had a good turnout and met a lot of new people in our community.

As I said to everyone last night, this site's been around for a couple years and it really would not be anything without the people who take part in it. It's is great to be a part of such a fun crowd of people both when out enjoying the hobby and when just hanging out together.

Thank you all for coming. I hope you folks had a good time.

There were good size gifts giving to those who won in the raffle.
Also, There were a couple of big items given too. Like a briefcase from Boeing and a big posters from Boeing. I think the "big poster" was showing the new 787 dreamliner, if im not mistaken.
