Confirmed, ship 908 is now in new livery and currently RON at ATL at a midfield hardstand. I couldn't get any pictures of her since I didn't have a clear view and that area isn't very well illuminated but be on the lookout for her. 908 was previously painted in Delta Shuttle colors. I'll post a schedule as soon as I can.

Unfortunately she isn't scheduled for any flights tomorrow, at least - not yet. She flew to ORD and TUS early today.

since it's an ex-shuttle airplane, is she going to be flying the shuttle or mainline routes?

Any idea when she will be making her first appearance in new colors to NYC?

Not yet, ship 908 is not loaded into the schedule yet, though like I said before it did visit ORD and TUS on Thursday. It's possible she went tech upon her RON last night.

Eh, i'm sorry, but it just doesn't look right on an MD-80, the only aircraft I really liked it on was the CRJ....

There is just too much white! It's boring!

Got a few pictures of her this morning after work before I hit I-75. One's already on JP: http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6057511.

I must say, she is one sexy looking bird, if not the BEST looking MD-80 I have ever seen.

Best MD-80 was N416NK, Spirit's 10th Anniversary scheme, but this looks pretty good I think.

Oww crap that is ugly! Bring back the Widget dammit! Even the Deltaflot colors were more colorful and the 737 in the backround of that last shot looks.....ALIVE! If it were me, I would put a blue ball on the tail, but everyone can not have great taste like me.

While the delta widget is cool like that on the tail, they could have had some fun and left the original colors of the widget, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HOT...little bevel and throw a hard diffused shadow!

Hmmm....

For those of you not familiar with Spirit's 10th Anniversary scheme, here she is and an amusing anecdote.

[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/0332179/L/[/airliners[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/0070203/L/[/airlinersSome of you may be to young to get the reference but for us old timers one day N814NK was westbound on Alpha at LGA and another aircraft was waiting to taxi from a spot and ground told them after the Spirit MD80 passes turn left on Alpha and follow Spirit and they replied copy wait for and follow the "Yellow Submarine" !
