4 fisherman were plucked to safety yesterday in a dramatic rescue on a jetty off of Breezy Point. The 4 fisherman were trapped because they were catching so many bluefish they didnt mind the rising choppy waters. Well someone called
911 and before you know it NYPD Air Sea Rescue was overhead. They dropped their divers then they hauled the fisherman
off the jetty hoisting them up in a rescue basket. After two were aboard they flew to shore to drop them off them came back for the other two and did the same. And it wasnt easy during the 40 minute mission as visibilty was very low and the ceiling was only about 200 feet. But all went textbook perfect.
Of course the fisherman werent very happy. They were upset they had to leave their huge catch and said they could have stayed safely on the jetty until the tide went down. But PD thought otherwise.
