It's a direct flight operated by Privitair in an all business class configuration.

Back in the 90's I had the pleasure of flying nonstop JFK-DUS when LH served the route with an A-310.

The 319 has that kind of range? Are there extra fuel tanks?

I was wondering if Lufthansa had ever served this market before with their own metal. It seems like LTU does very well on the route so I was wondering when Lufthansa would venture into it with their own metal. I was surprised that EWR was chosen and that the A340-300 would be operating the route instead of the A330-300. It's a large upgrade from the A319 to an A340-300 and it adds economy class as well so I'd think they'd want to start out with a smaller capacity aircraft.

We shall see how they do, I wish them luck!

Stuart, they are A319LR's.
