Just a quick question about cropping ratios for JP and other upload sites. Must the photos be in a 3x2 ratio, or are others like 5x3 also acceptable? What's the maximum before it's thrown out for BadShape or whatever that rejection reason would be?

I use 14.45cm for width and 9.64cm height. 3x2 should work fine too.

You always have to weird, Nick, huh? The metric system. *sigh*

I'm not exactly sure about the rules, but I wouldn't stray much from the 3:2 ratio, maybe add a little more height to fit something in, which the sites will usually take.

Hey most of the screeners are overseas so I figured this would help. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-12/905683/idea.gif

So right Phil, comes in handy when you need a little extra down there to crop and center.

In my (relatively limited) experience, JP is more forgiving of aspect ratios that aren't within a few pixels of 3:2 or 4:3, while Anet has been pickier. (Take this photo of mine (http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5985898&nseq=14), for example; even with the black copyright bar, it's a 5:3 shot. I got it onto JP with no problem, but I didn't even try uploading to Anet, since I've had photos rejected for "aspect ratio" for being much closer, and didn't want to waste the slot on a photo I know would be rejected.)
