Saw this on Airliners.net this morning, thought some of you would enjoy seeions some airlines that no longer fly into JFK and the older terminal configs.

Man, I don't know where to start. I'm too scared to go on Anet and see what aircraft some of those airlines brought in. It might be too crushing for me.

Good find!

the old airlines here are really cool to remember of how they were long ago

Geez look at all those carriers. Although the new IAT is beautiful, I miss the old International Building. Every Int'l carrier had a chance to showcase themselves in their own way and they all looked like stores instead of sterile airline terminals. Alitalia's was always one of the nicer ones with its dark marble floors and Italian design. Growing up, I spent most of my summers in Italy and everytime my family and I left to go there I would say we were going to the Alitalia "store" to get back home.

Wow, that's the way JFK was when I was born! Pretty cool to see since of course I can't remember it first hand.

Hard to imagine this was only from the 1990's! UAL did not move to the BA terminal until the early 90's so at worst this map is only 15 years old.

Pretty cool, I knew that runway at one point existed but I never really payed much mind to it. It would be useless anyhow. Who in their right mind wants to pay the port the kind of money they charge for any GA airplane at that airport anyhow. I would rather plant her at FRG and drive if I was an out of towener pilot.

Ah that is a nice find indeed, I remember when TWA was working out of T5 and T6 or what was then really just TWA International and Domestic, they had some operation going at the time. JFK was a nightmare back then to get around though, man I remember the first time I drove into JFK, it was a maze.

Funny how all the airplane icons are quad-jets.

I worked there from late 86 until early 92 , At the TWA intl ( Piedmont / US) Honestly it was the best. I used to take van and go explore and look at all the mostly unseen places on the ramp. It helped me later when I was fortunate enough to ride right seat with a mechanic as we taxied a 737 to Hangar 17. I was the only one who knew their way around the taxiways
