NEW YORK - Police are looking for a Brentwood man who struck his girlfriend and another man with an ax Monday morning after finding them in bed together, Suffolk police said. Stephen Abbott, 40, returned home and found his live-in girlfriend in bed with Carlos Derby, 34, on Sycamore Avenue in Brentwood, L.I. around 10 p.m. Sunday evening.

Abbott returned to the house at approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday and assaulted Grice and Derby with an ax.

Grice and Derby were treated for head wounds at undisclosed area hospitals. Grice was treated and released. Derby was in critical condition and underwent surgery, according to police.

Police said Abbott fled the scene with his girlfriend's 1990 Lexus LS400 and is still on the loose. The license plate number of the Lexus is DAL1010
