UK aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious arrived in NYC yesterday afternoon.
I'm not sure if it's going to be open to the public, but there is a helicopter on the rear deck which can be photographed through the chain link.
It is berthed just north of the passenger ship terminal.

Hi Mark -
HMS Illustrious is in town?
I was able to get the Destroyer HMS Manchester yesterday with a couple of helos on board, but I did not see Illustrious.

I do remember when HMS Invincible came in a couple of years ago... a LOT of choppers on that one.

Tom,
It passed Liberty Helicopters ramp approximately 110pm yesterday, which was annoying as my friend from England and I had just decided to go into check-in early for a flight with Liberty!
Not sure what kind of helicopter it was. My helo recognition is worse than my biz jet recognition. It was smaller but looked similar than a Sea King!
Not sure if they are offering tours this year. It came off exercises with HMS Manchester and the USN.

Thanks Mark -
I'll have to keep an eye for it when it departs.
I know I missed a French Navy ship a couple of weeks back - something to do with joint exercises as well.
