A private King Air BE90 taking off from McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad hit some high tension transmission lines and crashed into a golf course this morning, killing both on board. The loss of the transmission lines comes on a day of 100+ degree temps through much of the state, and officials are urging residents to conserve electricity as there is a risk of widespread outages.
