So... I was put on assingment to get pictures of some of the members of our Youth Group band... didn't get to them all but here are a few. Havn't edited them yet (becides resizing and adjusting some light issues) what do you think?

Taken at ISO 1600, with a fairly slow shutter speed as well... (1/30 a second on average)

Well captured. I like how it captures the "experince" of the photograph and the indvidual. They do not look super excited though lol.

Thanks, lol. Durring practice they were a little pissed because I was taking pictures instead of trying to get them set up :P (I'm on the AV Team) the other 2 were off to somewhere unknown.

I like the first one, there doesn't seem to be much to catch the eye in the last two. You would probably get some better shots when they're on stage, with better lights and a less cluttered background.

... they are on stage lol.

Yeah, I have an issue with lighting. I clicked the lights on to full and turned our spotlights on (evident by the Shadow), and it still wasn't enough

Ah, I was thinking of this kind of stage...

The lighting doesn't look too bad, and I assume you have IS for those 1/30 shots. Maybe try some different angles. I don't know how the lights are set up, but you could try turning some on and keeping others off, and play with the shadows.

Haha, nope, no IS... this was my 28-105...

Actually, this is what our stage looks like when were done. Although in this pic there are extra props (the doors) but yeah..

That's a nice looking drum set. Not a fan of Paiste cymbals though. I'm a Zildjian man myself. :)

For 1600 ISO and a slow shutter those came out great, I love the candid expressions in the performers.

Thanks for the compliments everybody, does anyone see anything I could have done better as a photographer?
