Delta seeks slots at Heathrow

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) said on Monday it was seeking up to six daily pairs of slots at London's Heathrow airport as it became the first US carrier to commit to a launch date for services to the congested UK gateway.

The third-largest US carrier by revenues is among a pack of airlines on both sides of the Atlantic which are tapping alliance partners and a "grey market" in slots at Heathrow following the recent open-skies agreement between the US and the European Union.

Oh how I love Delta. They gonna use 767's or T7's on this?

767s I'm sure or maybe one 777 for the more popular time slot. Delta doesn't have many 777s to spare for 6 daily slots into LHR. Their 777s are used for India and Japan.

From JFK the standard of cabin service on the LHR sector is quite high with AA, BA and VS so if DL wants to compete with a 76 they will need the ones with the new cabin fittings.

Apparently these slots will be taken from Air France/KLM

Most likely they will use the 767s as Delta is the largest operator of them
