Does anyone know the policy of camera's at Shea Stadium? I'm going Monday to the opening day game and would like to bring my camera and zoom lens. Here's what the Mets website says: Camera/Video Equipment
Small film or digital still cameras are permitted in Shea Stadium. However, fans taking pictures will not be permitted to interfere with other fans' enjoyment of the game. Video cameras are not permitted in Shea Stadium at this time, due to security considerations.

So I wouldn't consider my camera and 100-400 lens small. Anyone ever bring there gear?

I've brought my DSLR a number of times, including my 100-400mm, without any problems. I plan to bring it Monday. I typically bring my small camera bag, and usually the security guys have made remarks about what a nice camera I had, rather than giving me a hassle about bringing it in.

Maybe I'll see you there - I'll be the guy in the Mets hat :D

I think I'll need my 100-400 just to see the game. Sitting in the last section of the upper deck in left field.

Wow, that is out in the boonies! I'm in the upper deck, on the right field side, just past the infield.

No I am still Yanks all the way but the NL is the NL and the AL the AL so I cheer for both. I get gleeful joy though out of rubbing in a loss when the Mets get the short string of a game!

Great win for the Mets on a beautiful day. The Mets made some mistakes but more importantly they were able to capitalize on the Phillies' mistakes.

Notes:
• A pair of F/A-18 Super Hornets did a flyover following the national anthem. They arrived at least 30 seconds late, but they were low and loud and it was awesome. Anyone get pics? Did they stop at LGA?

• Citifield is beginning to look like a real building.

• Are there fewer mens rooms or more drunks? The bathroom lines today were the longest I've ever seen...obscenely long.

• 2007 price rundown: Beer = $7.25 (up 50 cents); Hot Dog = $4.50 (unchanged); Parking = $14.00 (up $1.00)

Got a few shots of the flyover - posted on the "Flyover" thread under News & Visitors.

Interesting to see the work on the new ballpark, but it will be sad to see Shea go.
