Today I saw this strange A319 at JFK. It was all white but it had red ont eh tail with a star and moon which remidned me of something pertaining to China. Maybe Russia, no idea. I didn't have too much time to look at it.

Anyone have any idea?

Are you telling me that A319 came in all the way from Turkey? Must have some extra fuel tanks...

As Senga pointed out in the EWR thread, Spain and Turkey made a presentation at the UN for some sort of grand alliance the want to use to fight religious intolerance and some other nonsense that won't actually accomplish anything. </end political rant used to explain presence of rare aircraft>

Here we go,
Small quote from a news site
"The proposal for the Alliance was made by the Prime Ministers of Spain and Turkey, who were also present at today’s Assembly session"

Another small quote..

"Later in the evening, Mr. Annan, Sheikha Haya and other officials attended a farewell concert for the Secretary-General 111"

His last day will be December 31st.
Then Ban Ki-moon assums the position UN Secretary General on Jan 1st.

Those CJ Airbuses can go really far just like Privatair's 737's go from Cicago to frankfurt. I think Eurofly has a A319 that flies direct to JFK
