Hey all, I had the opportunity last year to job shaddow some airfield operations agents (connections at the airport are awesome! ) and when driving down one of the DTW runways I took this pic, now granted I wouldn't upload it to JP.net on accound that it has part of the car in it, but I thought you guys might like to see it. That was a fun day for me, I got to do so many things that alot of aviation lovers would dream about (How about being parked on the side of a taxiway while a B744 wing is over the top of your car and its outboard engine is a mere 10 feet away from your window, with the window down!). Or, for the pilots out there, I got to chase down an FAA inspector (YES!!!) for cutting off an AA MD-80!

Anyway, enough of me rambling, if you guys want to here more of the story let me know and I will write it, but here is the picture I was talking about:

Cool pic. Looks like you're ready to roll. Just need some wings on that car.

That's not 22R! What a fake. I don't see the Marine Park Bridge in the distance :)

Well you seem to do that on the highway from what I hear??? LOLOLOL Very cool shot. Reminds me of when Fred and I went to Floyd Bennet and were racing up and down the runways. He has some pics I'm sure.

Lol, DTW 22R! :D

Glad you like it, I was showing flyboy_28 them last night on AIM and it reminded me of how much fun I had that day.

I would love to see those pics T-Bird!

Here are a few more (sorry for the quality, most of them were taken while driving at at least 25 MPH, so my camera couldn't focus too well)

(First upload on JP.net as well)

Taken while heading to Airfield Ops building 2. This is the Northwest Airlines ramp control (Ran and used only for Northwest Airlines, kind of neat they have their own tower)

This was on the largest taxiway, so this is about as far as I ever was from their wings. Whenever an airplane approaches we had to pull into the grass, this is about how it was, but usually they were closer.

Had to take this picture, because if any of you know DTW, 4L/22R is very far out from the other runways, very rarely would you get the opportunity to take a picture of the sign.

Taken as far out zoomed as I could

Very dissapointed in the quality of this pic, I don't know why it turned out that way.

This is where we parked when we had to go up into the ops control building 1. Very cool having to wait for a CRJ to be pushed before you can go inside, here I was standing on the tarmac waiting to cross to the terminal.
