I'm not quite sure what to do about image hosting around here. I belong to a flight sim community and we only allow images to be hosted via the server on the site. Is there any specific host I should use, and also any restrictions on file size and image width?
Sorry if this has been answered before. I just didn't want to get slapped. :)

I don't know why your other forum said you couldn't use it, that is kind of wierd. All forums I post at allow it.

Ya, feel free to use Photobucket or Imageshack. No restriction on file size, but try to keep the width 1024 or less.

This is the reason on the upload page;
"Important: Please read before posting. Failure to comply could lead to shots being deleted.
The reasons for this are simple. Large images slow down the forum & slow down thread viewing.
These rules are here for the benefit of you & other site users."
Makes sense I guess. I just follow the rules.

Then why not just mandate that you can only upload a certain size, making you upload to the forum's site is going to eat up even more bandwidth... Ah well, doesn't matter, it's not this forum!
