While taxiing for 22R yesterday I spotted the Air Force 737-700, I thought it was the 757-200 from behind (yeah I know bad mix up but it was raining and dark).

Austrian also brought in the Lauda 767-300 yesterday and Max Jet's flight to STN was the new hybrid bird.

i tried getting a few pics of the supertanker and max jet while getting our new tractor on the ramp today.. but was dark and didn't have a flash.. but there was a g3 over by the new deicing tent.. the usaf w/ tail number 60201.. was kinda cool looking wasn't expecting to see it!.. if im over there tomorrow.. ill be sure to have my camera!!!

You probably saw the US/HP Retro 319. The Piedmont one is an East aircraft and does not serve JFK (yet). The Allegheny 319 (N745VJ) has made one JFK visit over the Summer replacing a broken West 319 it ferried PHL-JFK then operated live JFK-PHX.

An IL-62 came into JFK around 7:30pm. Not sure whose as it was dark, but it was the first time I've ever seen a Russian jet (about time).

Well, what you see here in this thread are usually things that have already happened. The ones that I post are those that I've noticed already at the airport with my own eyes.

Otherwise, some people just have access to information that either the general public doesn't have access to, or maybe some of the flight trackers (flytecomm.com, red1aviation.com, flightaware.com) offer insight on various equipment substitutions.

The El Al 762 arrived as LY21, which seems to be just a extra section number. The most recent operations of LY21 have been on June 15, 19, and 20, which is right when all the summer youth tours are departing to Israel, and El Al needs every seat they can scrounge up. The 762 should still be there, since it arrived at 1210p, so it's stuck for Shabbat.

UPDATE: There's a huge Birthright contingent going out tonight and tomorrow. The outbound flight is LY32, which is also an extra section number, operating most recently around the holidays in September and October. The Prime Minister's flight is usually LY33.

I have heard that Max Jet has been having some MX issues which was one of the leading factors in the decesion to suspend IAD.

Something else to mention is that she left this morning at 8:39 am which is very off from the normal Finnair 6.

I grabbed my camera out of my car and ran back to get some pictures. I was amazed to see it there, because their MD-11's are normally well into the pm when they arrive and leave.

The 757-200 was operating the regular HEL-JFK-HEL flight Finnair 5/6. I believe the 757-200's were used for charters only in the past but now I believe they are used on some scheduled flights.

No idea why it replaced the MD-11.

Finnair used/uses 752's on HEL-BOS-HEL and on HEL-YYZ-HEL routes, which are seasonal regular flights.

Alright I figured out why it was used. Due to engine troubles with the MD-11 they used a 757-200 instead and because the same crew flew the plane back they needed a 14 hour layover.

and check out my pics.(the same user name). the acft used the 13r canarsie approach, did a fly-by at 500 ft and banked right to a heading of 224. then did a 360 and landed on 4r. when it landed it taxiied down 22r and down bravo to quebec. got a water salute at papa echo and went behind hangar 19. i was at terminal 1 during the fly-by but thought it was going to actually land on 13r. silly me. i barely made it past delta when it touched down.

I also saw the Fly-By of A388 F-WWJB from the windows at Terminal One. I was sitting at a table in front of McDonald's. It wasn't my lucky day. My camcorder decided to malfunction of all times; evidently debris was on the video heads so my videos were ruined. I cleaned the heads when I got home. Does anybody know the flight number of the flight? I'd really love to see the flight plan.

just a slight correction: it didn't taxi down 22r, it was yankee, then alpha transition to papa.

Ok so I have a question. I was at Roosevelt Field mall today and at around 6 or 7pm I saw a Qantas 747, with all different colors and objects painted on it. It was kind of far, as they were landing 31L-R. I have never seen that paint scheme at JFK before, and don't know if that is "normal" for JFK. I have only seen the regular Qantas 747. Any info?

The Dash-8 is taking over the ERJ-145 service I believe.

I think its going to be the Q400 when Co Ex gets them...we don't have ant Continental Connection flts at JFK anymore...we did have some running upstate stuff a few years ago, to Elmira,SYR etc...but I think they moved them to LGA or canceled them outright. But the ERJ from CLE is definitely going turbo prob, but CO Ex.

Lufthansa now has 2 A340-300s, 1 A340-600, and 1 747-400 daily so I wouldn't say that's much of a rare happening. I'm assuming the FRA A340-300 was upgraded to a 747-400.

I saw a Song a/c with a Delta #2 engine at MCO last March. Mixed engines aren't that uncommon, especially when Delta has multiple paint schemes.

Well since NAA has a really sporadic schedule for the next few weeks, and a few A/C will be OTG in JFK for an extended period I get that 4am phone call from the IAT requesting that we move our A/C to other areas. Then the Port assigns Hangar 4, Bldg 260, or over near Hangar 7. Then it is like pulling teeth to try and get those damn GSRs to help out with the transition..... Just Kidding Phil........KIND REGARDS

No it came into EWR on time and the weather was fine. Only thing I can think of is did Air India cancel any of their flights to JFK in the last few days? Maybe to pick up some stranded pax? The EWR flight routes through CDG so its not a surprise to see that is where it departed to from JFK.
