Now this plane has an interesting background if I did my quick homework well, under different regs it originally belonged to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich and then more recently to Canadian mining and venture capital investor Robert Friedland (Ivanhoe Capital)...

Would be curious to know where this will be based and what the rates will be. BBJ will probably do well in this market in as much as a Bloomberg Newswire article the other day, referring to the fact that Wall Streeters now make 5x the average New Yorker, stated the following:

"The industry's (Wall Street's) boom is benefiting Eastway Aviation, a Long
Island-based air-charter company that charges as much as $20,000
for four to six to fly within the U.S. and $90,000 for trips
abroad. Eastway added three airplanes to its fleet this year for
a total of nine, according to Sean Ordonez, director of client
relations.
``Business is growing,'' Ordonez said. ``I'm sure a lot of
it is Wall Street business.''"

With an average salary of almost $300k a year, Wall Streeters will be demanding more and bigger charter aircraft. Like the BBJ...

BBJ's usually charter for around $13k/HOUR + fuel.
A round trip NY-LA-NY would rack up about 11 hours.
You are looking @ $143k + fuel, catering, FA's, landing fees, parking fees plus tax. So....conservatively, $155k?

That's a bit much for me.

I do not see a reason for a 737 for a private jet really unless your going to throw the first ever inflight rave or a korn concert or your 50 Cent or some stupid reason like such I just do not get it. They are always nice to look at though

I've worked with Wall Streeters, and I could actually imagine some of them getting together and spending $10,000 or so each to fly privately to LA and back. The cost is all proportionate to income, $10k for a guy who makes $500k a year is like $1000 to the average person...

There is no place to store a BBJ @ FRG, as well, so I would venture HPN or SWF would be the place.

Dave thanks for the photo but personally a big thumbs down from me on the livery, especially the tail, pretty unimpressive. I was looking at her routings in flightaware and it looks like she was just at the NBAA convention at ORL !

Cheers

When she belonged to Mr. Abramovich she wore a cooler livery, it's on a.net if you look up the build number (yes, I am officially a loser for doing such things). He seems to like such things and it's gotten his current 767 alot of attention

actually, big thumbs down on both livs from me. as for a base, i'd venture to say either SWF or HPN. LGA would sure be cool though, guess he can definately afford to base it there...
