just heard on the local news that there is a water spout over some Long Island waters.

Now does that have any effect or notes for pilots flying in from Europe? I am wondering what everyone else may have seen or heard.

Well I'm pretty sure they wouldn't fly planes through a water spout, or for that matter, anywhere close to them. A waterspout is the same thing as a tornado, just on water...

There is a few stories where crews have inadvertantly for one reason or another either passed dangerously close to tornadoes and spouts or right through them.
