The LaGuardia Delta Main Security Checkpoint is being upgraded. The night of September 11th, the old wooden wall which stretched across the checkpoint was removed. Last night major glass work was completed. The morning of September 20th will have five lanes of X-ray equipment operational. This is up from the present three lanes. A few days after that additional glass holding pens will be installed.

This is the second reconfiguration of a checkpoint, the first was the US Airways shuttle a month ago. Other planned reconfigurations will be the A concourse of the CTB, Delta Shuttle and hopefully the D concourse of the CTB. Upgrades are also being looked at for the baggage areas. This is part of the TSA's commitment to enhance the operations at LaGuardia for both security and customer service.
