Apparently, according to Airliners World, jet Blue has taken delivery of their first A320 with the new winglet type. Keep any eye out.

According to insider source of information, testing is still being done on the A320 with winglets.... The latest information looks like they are getting 3%-5% with the winglets...

We have taken delivery of the A/c. It will be AC 636. It is undergoing testing at airbus with one set of winglets ,then will then switch onto another pair of winglets and re-test. We dont expect the AC till late in the year.

Did B6 itself decide if they are going to go with the 727 look alike winglets or the ones Airbus mande that look like a clipped toenail

Not bad looking, hope they work out and put some paint on them.

Would be cool if they were done the same like the tail...but thats not going to happen.

That picture looks like the 2nd pair of wiglets thats being tested. Its on the same AC that the first set was on thats why the same reg no. When it arrives in our fleet the reg is N636JB. which wont be for another couple of months. I imagine they didnt paint them because they are testing them. Why paint something if its only a test. I can guess that when they arrive here in the USA they will be painted somehow.

To restate, I like them the most. The ones that Mellyrose repainted look a bit A330-ish.

Mel, there are two different sets of winglet shapes that they added to aircraft for testing. One looked squared off like that of an A330, and the other had an angle on it similar to the Embraer jet series.

Hey Mellyrose, I'd love to see the curved winglets repainted :mrgreen: . If B6 decides to use their unique schemes more power to them, but I'm afraid that we might see a monotonous white or dark blue as on the E90's. Ridiculous to say; blanked wing lets are another saving of fuel as the paint doesn't weigh them down more. It seems awkward for a carrier not to apply any extra advertising. Glancing at the winglets of 'Canada's jetblue'-WestJet precisely- one can right away notice their web address.

I saw that too. It's a shame, I rather liked the new winglets, especially the second one that was tried.

There are two different programs looking at the benefits to winglets for the A320, one being Airbus, who never really went for the idea and the inhouse program jetBlue is working on.
