Hey guys. I'm bored on a Sunday morning, so I was just playing around on Jetphotos. I was looking at one of my most recent uploads, and saw a link to "Spotter's Logbook." Now, it's pretty cool - it just lists every other photo or sighting of that regi in the database. I realize that you can also just click on the reg link in the photo, but since this is in list form, you can more easily find things like this....

I looked for the same reg on the same day as my plane, expecting to just find another NYCAer's shot...most likely standing next to me when taken, but instead, check this out:

Here is my shot, taken from Costco: http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5739668

Here is the same plane, on the same day - not so close to Rockaway Blvd: http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5688516

Check out where that one was taken from....hours before I even saw it in the distance.

Thought that was cool. :)

I noticed the logbook but hadn't gotten around to checking it out till just now. That is a neat feature in the list format, I agree!

Well the photo that I took is not on JetPhotos but on April 29 when EC-JOH came soaring over Cargo Plaza just as we were about to leave I jumped out of the car and snapped a pic:

It turns out that later that night spanish photographer Dario Crusafon would be flying out of JFK on Iberia 6252 operated by EC-JOH. He took three photos from inside the plane on his way to MAD.

So I thought it was cool that I photographed the plane on approach and he photographed from the interior plane on his departure leg.

That IS cool Gordon! That's kind of what I was looking for actually....someone taking a picture from INSIDE a plane, at the same time I was taking one from the ground of an arrival. That would be pretty cool! ;)

I've noticed the logbook feature before, and poking around in my logbook entries, I see that it not only lists photos that have been accepted, but it also includes entries when my photo has been rejected - you still get credit for having seen the aircraft on that day & place.
